Who are we?
Marches YAC are a branch of the National Young Archaeology Club (YAC), co-ordinated by the Council for British Archaeology. YAC is the only UK-wide club for young people up to the age of 17 interested in archaeology. YAC's vision is for all young people to have opportunities to be inspired and excited by archaeology, and to empower them to help shape its future.

Marches YAC was established in 2012 and is run by a committed group of enthusiastic archaeologists. We are based at the heart of the Welsh Marches, just outside Welshpool and have some truly fantastic archaeological sites right on our door step, including some amazing Iron Age hillforts, Dark Age Offa’s Dyke and some spectacular Medieval castles.
